Our New Whip — 6 Comments

  1. And here I am all excited over my first crop and you’ve got a whip!! I’m jealous!! It’s lovely. Enjoy it!!

  2. I have that exact same whip! The man who hand-crafts them (I think his name is Petersen, but I can’t remember) makes them expressly for human use (as opposed to most whips, which are equine- or tack-related). I love the way the thick, soft tip feels (I think it’s elk, but I don’t remember), and the fact that it can be tender as well as tenderizing. I’ve noticed that this modified single-tail whip can go astray or off target very easily, so I recommend lots and lots of prior practice on Pauline the Imperilled Pillow.

While I am not really a whip fan (this is the only one I own) the craftsmanship, design, weight and feel of this piece is top-notch. Bethie, I hope you and Dan enjoy many, many hours of fun with your new toy!

  3. Eva, thanks, we’re still getting to know the whip and so far it’s been very *enjoyable*. 😉

O-gal, we’d been looking for the “right” whip for some time and this one is just what we wanted for all the reasons you gave. It’s wonderful and we’re having a great time with it! Thanks! 🙂

  4. Bethie,

Now I’m envious. I was shown one of these beauties a while ago by the Doc and they feel gorgeous! You lucky devil!! 😉

  5. We have considered advancing from our belt to one of these, but I fear a negative reaction. A single tail seems so intimidating, but the thought of seeing a welt or two in the morning does inspire us. She does need to move forward in the process.

  6. Mistress Sky, it really is a beauty and I’m enjoying it quite a bit. I guess I am a lucky devil! 😆

Robeach, Dan wanted one of these for some time, I just recently came around to considering it. I thought they were all that other more severe type, this one is made of soft leather and can be quite enjoyable and not so scary after all, but still intense. Also, Dan’s been very patient and careful which has made this toy enjoyable for both of us.
